Every year we get lots of questions about whether or not you can donate after getting a flu shot. Here are the rules for donating blood at ARUP and getting a flu shot. There is no deferral for any flu shots, whether they are seasonal or for H1N1. Also it doesn't matter if you receive it by nasal mist or by shot in the arm.
We do ask if you have any flu symptoms or if anyone in your house has the flu that you not donate until you are fully healthy and well.
